Coronavirus

The surgery is using telephone triage for all patients.  If you need to be seen, a GP will arrange for you to be seen in the practice.

NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need medical help and advise you what to do.

Get an isolation note at https://111.nhs.uk/isolation-note/

Use this service if:

  • you think you might have coronavirus
  • you've been in close contact with someone with cough/cold, high temperature, shortness of breath

Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Stay indoors and avoid close contact with other people. Call 111 if you need to speak to someone.

You do not need to be registered at the surgery to access the service and there is no need to be referred by your own GP.

Call us on 0121 458 2550 to speak to one of our GP's.

Umbrella Chlamydia Screening Programme

Are you aged between 15 and 24 years old?  You can pick up a free, self screening kit from reception.  You do not need to be registered at the surgery to get one.  Contact the surgery for details or visit www.umbrellahealth.co.uk

Repeat Prescriptions

pharmacist_6Some patients who are on regular medicines may be issued with repeat prescriptions without necessarily consulting a Doctor every time.

When repeat prescriptions are collected a computer print out of your medicines will be attached and should be filled in when ordering next time.

You can also have your prescriptions sent electronically to your chosen pharmacy.  Ask reception to set this up for you.

A Doctor will still need to see you at least once a year to review your medication.  This review date is at the bottom of your repeat prescription slip. If you come to reception we can often do your prescription while you wait if your checks are up to date and the drugs are due.  If you leave your prescription with us please allow 24 hours for collection of your new prescription.

Local chemists offer a prescription collection service from our surgery.  This saves you at least one trip to the surgery and you can go directly to the chemist for your medications.  Please discuss with your nearest chemist.
